Most editing problems are setup problems

The vertical sequence is the wrong size. The export looks washed out next to what was on the timeline. Nothing is where you left it, because the bins got named on the fly at midnight.

None of that is an editing problem. It is the same twenty minutes of setup, skipped, every time.

Template

Five bins, five sequences, one adjustment layer

Label colours set, a 9:16 vertical at 29.97 already in there, and the adjustment layer parked above the video on every sequence. This is the part that matters.

5 LUTs

Corrective first, looks second

One takes Sony S-Log3 to Rec.709. One puts contrast back into any flat profile. Three are mild looks built to sit on footage you already corrected, so they work on any camera, phone included.

4 presets

The washed-out export, fixed

YouTube 4K, YouTube 1080p, vertical, and a small file for sending someone a review copy. This is the sleeper piece, and almost nobody packages the fix.

Who is sending it

I am Oscar. I edit in Premiere and I run a video production company in Nashville.

I teach the parts I actually use, including the parts where the tool does not work.

What this will not do

The template is saved from Premiere 2026. Premiere opens older projects but never newer ones, so on 2025 or earlier it will not load. That is an Adobe thing.

The LUTs will not make your footage look like a movie. The three looks are deliberately mild, because a strong LUT on footage nobody corrected first just makes a bad image louder.

If you already have a template you like, take the export presets and delete the rest.
